PokerParty com on the Las Vegas Strip

January 18, 2006

Joining the rest of the Las Vegas Strip, Caesars Palace jumped into the 21st century world of pokerparty when it brought back a pokerparty room for its casino in late December. Spending $12 million to add a spacious pokerparty room and separate tournament area, it seems Caesars is sparing nothing to allow pokerparty players to enjoy their game in style! It is a remarkable comeback for the game of pokerparty in the legendary casino, which quit spreading pokerparty in the late 80's.

The pokerparty room itself is decked out with 25 television screens and eleven vintage LeRoy Neiman paintings, which had previously been kept from public view. The tournament area will come into usage especially when the 2006 World Series of Pokerparty Tournament of Champions is played at the end of June. Since the opening of the room, daily tournaments have been running with buy-ins that start at $80 with $50 rebuys to big weekly tournaments on Fridays and Saturdays at 7PM that will run you $530 (with no rebuys). If tournaments aren't your style, then there will be ring games spread (and at all levels of action) featuring Texas and Omaha Hold 'Em as well as Seven Card Stud.

So how do you open up a pokerparty room as grand as this? You invite the cream of the pokerparty world, add in an A-list group of celebrities, and put on a tournament on New Year's Eve! Las Vegas socialite Nicky Hilton decided to introduce some of her friends to the game of pokerparty through "The Celebrity Pokerparty Challenge", which kicked off some high dollar action in the Caesars pokerparty room. The buy-in for the event was $2,000 (with $200 juice) and was also a bounty tournament for those who could take down the pokerparty celebrities and professionals who came to play as well. The World Pokerparty Tour's annual star-studded WPT Invitational today at the Commerce Casino brought out Hollywood's new crop of pokerparty aficionados including such personalities as Ray Romano, Camryn Manheim, Jon Favreau, the Masterson Brothers Danny and Chris, Brad Garrett, Dean Cain, Mimi Rogers, Mena Suvari, Ed Asner, Norm MacDonald, Lou Diamond Phillips, Stephen Collins and 30 others. While the last celebrity "survivor" will take home a $5,000 donation for charity, there is plenty more at stake for the 236 total players in the tournament that concludes tomorrow -- a $200,000 prize pool and a seat at the WPT World Championship in April. The winner will also receive the elegant and prestigious Argentium(TM) Silver trophy, designed especially for the WPT Invitational.

While the fans along the rail ogled the celebrities, the celebrities were in awe of their favorite pokerparty .com stars ... many of whom have made their names on WPT telecasts. Seated alongside the stars were such pokerparty luminaries at Doyle Brunson, Layne Flack, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke, Scotty Nguyen, Phil Laak, Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, T.J. Cloutier, Gus Hansen and numerous other champions.

Said Lou Diamond Phillips: "I think the THE WORLD POKERPARTY TOUR was the fuse that helped pokerparty just blow up. I know a lot of kitchen and home game players who now see the strategy and yell out the answers. It's like watching Jeopardy on TV."
